Right now, far too many people think it’s acceptable to throw their takeaway packaging out of the car window after a drive-through.
Littering is already a crime in England and Wales — but the current laws clearly aren’t doing the job. There’s little fear of being caught, and even less fear of consequences.
That’s why I’m calling for tougher penalties for people caught littering from vehicles and better use of technology for enforcement.
